“CONCERT POUR ICI – A concert to eat in!”

For the first edition of the new season, BEIT LIVE and BOOCHIE are delighted to host:

STEARICA // live

Torino-based instrumental trio’s powerful, the key to their success is their powerful and adventurous sound, which is geometrical yet visceral: so intense that there is no need for words – much like “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. This is especially the case live, whether in clubs, crowded festivals such as “Primavera Sound” and “Villette Sonique” or in their live film soundtrack of the 1920 silent horror masterpiece “Der Golem” (commissio- ned by and performed at the National Cinema Museum and winner of the “Audience Award” in the 2014 Rimusicazioni Film Festival).
Their desire to go ‘beyond’ the traditional concept of a band has also led them to begin work on an ambitious multimedia show.
So the title of their 2008 debut album ‘Oltre’ (loosely translated as ‘beyond’) is very appropriate, and the response to ‘Oltre’ both at home (“…the best record produced in Italy in years” -Il Mucchio) and internationally (UK avant garde magazine The Wire featured STEARICA twice on its covermount CD) confirms this.
But with the new record “Fertile” the trio ventures even further into unexplored territories.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, so check them out on…

And here are also some reviews from the BE & NL press:

Het luisterplezier is dan des te groter als de eigenzinnigheid van Stearica wél werkt en gelukkig komt deze meestal uitstekend tot zijn recht. Het ziet er naar uit dat ze enthousiast bezig zijn geweest met het maken van dit album. En wij worden er ook enthousiast van. Iedereen blij.” Cuttin Edge
Hemeltergend mooi.”  Rif Raf
Verrassend lekker.”  File Under
Music in Belgium

Opening act: Otto Lindholm // live

Double bass player and electronic producer Otto Lindholm comes to light with his project and debut ep simply called ‘Otto Lindholm’ (Icarus Record | Vynilla Vinyls – Feb 2016)

In the mood of bands as mohamad (pan) or recent james ginzburg’ nimbes for subtext, Otto Lindholm proposes intense and noir long-tracks. All are stand-alone experiments coming from unique producing processes elaborated by the artist. The double bass dialogues in the dark with blinking analogic machines creating beatless but dynamic music, fully habited by plate-shifting bass drones.

Otto Lindholm has been active in the underground of his native Brussels since the late ’90s. Releasing a.o. an ep called useless in 2009 under the iCu moniker, playing at this occasion support for cult band tortoise. He also has been co-founder of the short-living Spank Me More Records label.

Otto will premiere his live show at Bozar Electronic Festival on 8 October, a night not to be missed!
